A week of Connection

This week I have been a little lax on my blogging. I haven't created time to sit down and write, reflect, and ponder. Mostly because I've been making connections. Making connections, bonding and allowing the spirit of friendship to move and grow with 3 individuals whom I met on Saturday, whom were strangers a week ago, however in a mere 5 days have become incredibly close and really great friends. These 3 people I'll be spending my summer with, working together with The GO Project, forming communities with youth, and supporting and upholding one another throughout the summer. Not only are we a team, were friends, and becoming family.

Please let me introduce you to Paige, Mitchell and Melissa! Three people I am lucky to call my colleagues, teammates, friends and part of my GO Project family!

We have had a great week so far together. Starting on Saturday night where we hung out for dinner and drinks, getting past the awkward stage of 'who are you?' and meeting one another for the first time. We worshiped together on Sunday with the afternoon filled with the beginning of training. We've skyped our extended GO family whom are in Halifax and T.O., and spent time sharing our stories and diving deeper into our hearts.

Tuesday we enjoyed a morning at Highlands United Church learning more on our personalities and how we can work together, while the afternoon was spent exploring the rainforest, leaping through trees and crossing extremely high swaying bridges. As a team we've enjoyed time out on the lawn, basking in the sun, but also doing work,  served the community at First United, and then joined in a spirit celebration.

In an amongst the work, there has been tons of laughter, jokes shared, connections mades, and friendships built. We have discovered where we all fit in the picture, that 'busting' really means running, a sea bus is really a sky train and a bunny hug is just a hoddie sweatshirt. As a team we've made plans together for a days off, scheduled trips to Vancouver Aquarium and bought tickets to see the CFL BC Lions play Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

We've also really discovered- we're a fun group of people! As some may say, we're a hoot! I am so blessed to learn and discover more about these 3 amazing teammates, staff and friends. I am so grateful that we are all getting along, that the connections have been made and know that each day forward we will continue to grow in understanding, friendship and love. It's hard to believe in 9 days The GO Project will begin. I am are ready, eager and so excited!
Tomorrow I'm diving deep with Melissa and Paige as we visit the aquarium! Mitchell will be missed, but he's gone home for the weekend to write an exam (Good Luck), and attend a conference. Stay tuned to hear how deep sea adventures go, and for the Friday Nuggets.
Sweet dreams!
